Eye of the Storm?

It was such a sleepy day today at work, it's hard to get to grips with the fact that there are going to be plenty of unfinished things when I leave and it's just not my problem. To be honest Epic is like a lumbering old dog that just keeps on going and in a few weeks I will be forgotten like a scratched off flea.

I spent over £200 in the camping shop today ready for Everest! Got myself some thermals, gloves, a sleeping bag and a Leatherman tool, which is just a posh pen knife really, but it's really groovy.

Oh the meal thing last night was really fun and ended up with some top grub, I almost had meat oozing out of my skin afterwards though! Had a pumpkin and prawn risotto to start that was utterly delicious. Then a middle course of beef with a plum and apple compote, I did this one and it was more like beef and jam to be honest, but still yum, then a beef and prawn stir fry rounded off with some baked figs and plums with cream and toffee sauce, fantastic!

Might have to make a speech tomorrow when I leave, pooing myself about that a bit, oh well! Tomorrow night should be good fun, going for a few beers after work with work folk and I have invited some of my friends, so it will be interesting to see who turns up. Must pace myself on the beers!
