A Significant Sausage
Oct 27th
I'm still on the plane, they just served breakfast so not long until the decent now. I remember once getting breakfast on a plane back from Crete, it had been the holiday from hell. We stayed in a really trashy resort with M's old work friend and her bloke, both of whom could be pretty hard work at times. Anyway it was a cheap package deal and inevitably the plane back had been at 3am and inevitably it was delayed, so with utterly no sleep I was feeling pretty bad. M had gone delirious and just as I nodded off she excitedly shoved a vegetarian sausage in front of my face.
It had been a little bit difficult to get hold of vegi stuff in Crete so I guess I can understand her glee in retrospect. I remember another time on a flight M babbling 'nuts nuts' thrilled by getting handed a small packet of nibbles. It was often in these small pleasures that M found such joy. I loved to see her like that, although at the time I was unable to fully appreciate the significance of the sausage.

blogging from a plane? how cool are you? the bumping into people thing is true but it's really hard to stop yourself saying sorry all the time. being so british is a curse :) also hold onto your small change like it was gold dust. you can never have enough small change...
